Simon Granit Ossoinak is a performing artist, maker, teacher & director from Stockholm, Sweden, based in Rotterdam, with his primary background in contemporary circus. His main discipline is dance acrobatics, where he mixes influences and techniques from circus, contemporary dance, handbalancing, tricking, and breakdance.

As a performer he likes to work multi- and interdisciplinary. Simon started performing when he was 12 years old as a musician and musical artist and has since then performed and practiced circus, parkour, dance, theatre, Ido Portal Method and various other creation methods and movement disciplines.

He graduated from Cirkus Cirkörs three year preparatory program in 2016 and from Codarts Circus Arts Bachelor program in July 2022. For his studies at Codarts he received grants from the well renowned Anders Sandrews Stiftelse and Anna Whitlocks Minnesfond.

Simon also has a long background in leadership roles. He has 10 years of experience as a teacher and has taught at institutions such as The Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Conny Janssen Danst, Dansateliers, CRAC de Lomme, Cirkus Cirkör Upper Secondary and is currently a specialisation teacher at the Bachelor of Circus Arts at Codarts since 2023. He has also assisted five theatre productions as a consulting choreographer, completed courses and performed works within public speaking and multiple performances & events performed and/or organised as a host.

Simon has performed and created works in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Belgium and The Netherlands, often working with interdisciplinary projects. His works have performed at, among others, Theater Rotterdam, Schuur, Lowlands Festival, Amare, MAD Festival, Circusstad Festival, Årsta Teater, Kunsthal & Maaspodium.

His work is characterised by a mixture of powerful, strange and personal but with a lighthearted touch and glint in the eye. He has a strong interest in looking at art, movement and, just in general, life from a theoretical standpoint. He studied philosophy at Stockholm University and often includes an intellectual perspective in his pieces.
